Video: Mystery of the Grouper Moon (short version)

This is an abridged version of the documentary, made by marine artist and conservationist Guy Harvey and award-winning filmmaker George Schellenger, to promote conservation of the endangered Nassau Grouper.

The result of a collaboration between renowned marine biologist Guy Harvey and award-winning filmmaker George Schellenger, the Mystery of the Grouper Moon examines the reasons behind the ban on fishing in the Nassau Grouper’s spawning aggregation areas and the need to extend this ban in order to save the species. It took Mr. Harvey three years to obtain permission to film at the spawning aggregation site in Little Cayman, which is the last known intact such area in the world.
