Youth in the community will be putting together a walk/parade to promote ocean awareness, environmental health, and celebrate the resources and natural beauty that the ocean provides to this local ocean community. The walk will end on the beach where the community will gather to learn about International Ocean Day and watch Planet Earth Ocean Special. The event will be organized by local Peace Corps volunteer and local youth and fishermen.

To Celebrate World Ocean’s Day the Barbados Dive Operators Association led by Barbados Blue Water Sports will be holding an underwater clean up in Carlisle Bay Marine Park. Additionally in honour of our Oceans this event will be used as the launch date for a diver tag system to raise money and awareness for the upkeep of the recreational dive areas of Barbados.
