The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is seeking to employ a Project Coordinator who will have responsibility for the successful implementation of the project “EC-funded assistance to agricultural diversification in the Windward Islands” financed by the European Community under its Special Framework of Assistance (SFA) for traditional African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) suppliers of bananas.

Under the SFA, the FAO, in collaboration with the Governments of the Windward Islands (Ministries of Agriculture), is implementing a number of activities in support of their agricultural diversification programmes.

Duration: 9 months
Start Date: September 2010, or as soon as possible thereafter
Location: Barbados

Summary of Duties
- Oversee the implementation of project activities;
- Liaison with partners and stakeholders;
- Undertake operational and administrative tasks;
- Monitoring and evaluation of project activities;
- Preparation of progress reports;
- Dissemination of information on the project

Qualifications:
Graduate degree in project management, business administration, agriculture, economics or related discipline. Minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in project administration, preferably in the areas of agriculture and rural development; strong analytical, planning and organisational skills; ability to adjust to multiple demands and select priorities, as required; ability to work with others; team player; effective communicator, including strong writing and presentation skills. Ability to work with standard computer programmes.
