Protected forest, DominicaThe Ministry of Agriculture in Dominica is reminding his compatriots of the importance of that island’s forests:

Agriculture Minister Matthew Walter said new legislation to complement Dominica’s Forestry Policy could be implemented soon.

He told a consultation on a policy for the forestry sector, that the country’s wildlife resources and forests must be properly managed.

“Since our survival depends on the existence [of] a health[y] forest [resource], the Government of Dominica stands ready to play its part, to ensure that our forest and wild life resources are properly managed in the interest of this and future generations,” he said.
